Paediatric Dentistry
The initial appointment for children differs slightly depending on age. Generally, your child meets the dentist and has an opportunity to get used to the dentist’s high-tech chair. This consultation mainly involves a visual inspection. X-rays may be taken at this visit if necessary, making sure there’s nothing unusual with the child’s teeth and gums. The dentist will also assess your child’s growth and development and identify any risk of dental decay.
Your child’s visit is often an interactive one. We will assess areas where your child misses brushing, highlight it to them and teach your child how to brush properly. Flossing techniques are often discussed and we educate your child on the importance of a healthy diet on teeth. We will also be using our own special electric toothbrush with bubble-gum flavour toothpaste that kids love.
